On November 12, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, Ilkhom Norkulov met with representatives of the World Bank, led by the Senior Technical Advisor and global leader on land and geospatial aspects Wael Zakut, at the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction.

        The meeting was attended by the Head of the Department for Coordination of Land Reforms Mohir Shagazatov, the Head of the Division of Privatization of Non-Agricultural Land Plots Igor Chuikin and the Head of the Division for Reforming Land Relations in Agriculture Yodgorbek Zhuraev, on the part of the bank - the project manager and senior specialist in land management Nadezh Orlova and Acting Head of the World Bank Country Office in Uzbekistan Rakhymzhan Assangaziev.

        The agenda included questions about discussing the possibility of implementing pilot projects on integrated land management within the framework of the project "Modernization of real estate registration and cadastre systems."

        During the meeting, special attention was paid to the current state of land relations in the republic. They also emphasized the importance of institutional development and the formation of a legal framework for land relations.

        Moreover, they discussed issues of interaction and support from the Government in the framework of the forthcoming analytical work of the World Bank on land policy issues.

        Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation and mutual support in current and future projects.
