On November 30 of this year, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction organized an online seminar to discuss the project "Long-term Strategy for Decarbonization of the National Economy" (LTS) with relevant ministries, departments and organizations.

 

For reference, this draft strategy is being developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, as well as the World Bank and other foreign organizations in order to further accelerate the decarbonization of the national economy.

 

The event was attended by representatives of such foreign companies and organizations as the World Bank, EXERGIA S.A. Climate Change Consultants, E3-MODELING Energy-economy-Environment, JURU Energy, responsible representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, as well as representatives of about 40 ministries, agencies and organizations.

 

In her speech, the representative of the World Bank Paola Agostini noted that together with the World Bank and the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, a long and difficult path has been passed in developing the draft strategy, a lot of work has been done on the “green” transition, and Uzbekistan has determined its direction in this direction.

 

In the main part of the event, representatives of ENERGIA S.A. Climate Change Consultants presented a draft Strategy. The relevant ministries, departments and organizations addressed the representatives of the project with their questions and submitted their proposals for the project.

 

Following the seminar, it was noted that the parties agreed to cooperate on further improvement of the draft strategy, and the final version of the Strategy will be presented in the second quarter of next year.
