On November 30 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held a meeting with HM's Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Kenan Paleo.

The meeting was attended by Director General of the UK Department for International Trade Andrew Mitchell, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan Timothy Torlot, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov, Deputy Finance Minister Odilbek Isakov and other responsible representatives.

During the meeting, the programs of “Effective Governance for Economic Development” (EGED) and initial public offering (IPO), public-private partnership projects implemented in the field of education, healthcare, improvement of infrastructure for drinking water supply, services, energy, in particular, in the creation of solar and wind farms, providing technical support to PPP projects.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on green growth, in particular, on the processes of transition to a green economy, the use of green energy sources, cooperation with international financial institutions in these processes, labor market reforms, improving the business environment, public procurement, ensuring openness and transparency of budgetary processes, support for the private sector, development of transportation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
