Meeting with representatives of JICA

On June 10 of this year, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Bobur Abdinazarov met with representatives of the delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) headed by the Director of the Department of Central Asia and the Caucasus Mishima Kenji.

The meeting was attended by Shukhrat Matkarimov, Director of the Department for the Development of International Cooperation and Protocol Service, Murodulla Anarbayev, Head of the Department for the Implementation of the Industrial Development Strategy, Yamaguchi Atsumo Country Specialist, Toki Norihiro Project formation Specialist and Sharifzoda Sharipov, Chief Project Coordinator.
The agenda included the development of a cluster system and methods of its application in the Uzbek industry based on Japanese experience.

At the beginning of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the ongoing work on the formation of a cluster system in the industry of our country, in particular on the activities on the creation of clusters of copper, machine-building and automotive clusters, ongoing projects, their prospects and expected effective results in the future.
At the same time, during the meeting, issues of developing a cluster system in Uzbek industry based on the experience of Japan, updating and improving economic infrastructure, promoting the reorganization of the social sector, and developing industry in rural areas were discussed.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand mutually beneficial and effective cooperation.
