On March 10 this year, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adiz Boboyev met with representatives of the World Bank delegation headed by Varalakshmi Vemuru, Global Practice Manager for Social Stability and Inclusion in Europe and Central Asia.

The meeting was attended by Senior Social Development Specialist of the World Bank Group Audrey Sacks, Social Development Specialists of the World Bank Robert Wrobel and Gulrano Tlepova, Head of the Department for the Formation and Monitoring of the "Obod Qishloq" and "Obod Mahalla" Programs - Director of the Rural Infrastructure Development Project Zafar Urakov and other responsible persons.

During the meeting, it was noted that the parties deserve special recognition for increasing the attractiveness of the “rural infrastructure development” project implemented in 5 regions of Uzbekistan (Andijan, Namangan, Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Fergana), personal choice by the population and the public of relevant subprojects implemented under the project and control over its implementation.

Also at the meeting, representatives of the delegation exchanged views on the 2nd stage of the project implementation and its design. Both sides are unanimous that the design of the project should be carried out on the basis of an integrated approach. They spoke about the work that will be carried out within the framework of the project, and about the activities that will be carried out in the future.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand mutually beneficial ties and develop cooperation.
