On December 16, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Babur Abdinazarov held an online meeting with a specialist in economic and industrial policy specializing in Central Asia Christian Tim from the German Society for International Cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by Director of the Department of Industrial Policy Otabek Sharipov and Director of the Department for the Development of International Cooperation and Protocol Service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Shukhrat Matkarimov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the industrial policy being carried out in Uzbekistan, the work being conducted on the development of industries, projects and programs being implemented, access to natural resources, the role of using advanced technologies in the industry, the development of copper, mining, metallurgical, chemical industries, and the development of industrial infrastructure.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on labor productivity, energy efficiency, activity of mining and metallurgical combinants Almalik and Navoi, organization of copper industry cluster, as well as, examining the international experience in this field aimed at creating multi-stage value-added chains for the production of finished products with high added value.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to increase the exchange of views.
