On December 15 , the X meeting of the Council for Interregional and Cross–Border Cooperation of the CIS member states under the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in the videoconference format.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia V.Terteryan, Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee of the Republic of Belarus R.Strahar, Vice-Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.Kuantyrov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation D.Volvach, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan A.Abdurakhmonzoda, Director of the CIS Executive Committee Department M.Myskin, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS member States.

Chairman of the Council, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saidkakhkhor Kholkhujayev opened the meeting and delivered a welcoming speech.

The agenda of the Council meeting included 10 issues, in particular the state of interregional and cross-border cooperation in the CIS member states, the implementation of the Concept of Interregional and Cross-border Cooperation of the CIS for the period up to 2030, as well as consideration of the draft Concept of the organization and holding of the Forum of CIS Regions and others.

During the meeting, the participants made a report on the state of interregional and cross-border cooperation, in particular, the Uzbek side noted that despite the still ongoing pandemic, the volume of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with the CIS countries is increasing, and great attention is being paid to strengthening regional and cross-border cooperation.

The meeting also considered the draft Concept of the first Forum of CIS Regions prepared by the Uzbek side and decided to hold this Forum in 2022 in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the participants expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for the organization and high-quality preparation of the Council meeting at such a high level.
