Meeting with representatives of the World Bank

On November 25, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov and Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov met with World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia Tatiana Proskuryakova.

The meeting was also attended by World Bank Country Manager for Uzbekistan Marco Mantovanelli, Chief Economist of the World Bank in Uzbekistan Vinayak Nagaraj and Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Bekhzod Khamrayev, Director of the State Assets Management Agency Akmalkhon Artikov, Director of the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research Umid Obidkhodjayev and representatives of the responsible departments of the Ministry.

During the meeting, representatives of the World Bank informed about the development process and current status of the cooperation program in Uzbekistan, which is planned to be implemented in 2022-2026.
The sides also discussed the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, further expansion of cooperation, strategies and concepts being developed for privatization, in particular, programs for the privatization of state-owned enterprises, macroeconomic stability, poverty reduction, prospects of the transition to a green economy.

Moreover, the sides exchanged views on the transition to a digital economy, the use of renewable energy sources, green energy, the development of industries, the introduction of new technologies, the development of agriculture.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to expand relations and strengthen cooperation on the above issues.
