The Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan (hereinafter - the Ministry) adopted the Order № 58 of October 19, 2020 "On the establishment of the Advisory Council on Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men", as well as on August 25, 2021, the relevant amendments were made by Order № 31.

This order approved the composition of the 9-member advisory board.

Today, the activity of the Advisory Board of the Ministry is carried out on the basis of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On guarantees of equal rights and opportunities for women and men", the Law "On Protection of women from oppression and violence", Recommendations Developed by the Commission on Gender Equality and the Regulation on the Advisory Board on Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men in the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction.

For reference: There are 308 women in the ministry. In particular, 44 of them hold managerial positions.

Advisory councils (consisting of 7 people) have also been established in the regional head departments and subordinate organizations of the Ministry.

On January 22 this year, the Advisory Board approved the Work Plan for 2021 and implemented a number of measures, including:

Appropriate measures have been identified to strengthen the role and status of women in the ministry system, including the formation of a reserve of women for leadership positions;

Work has been done to study the situation of women working in the ministry and its system;

The ministry is working on social protection for women and men;

Recommendations are being made to reward employees who have set a good example in their work.
