In order to fulfill the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № PD-6003 of June 2, 2020 "On improving the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan in international ratings and indices, as well as the introduction of a new mechanism for systematic work with them in state bodies and organizations", in accordance with the schedule of collegial seminars and the curriculum approved by the Republican Council for work with international ratings and indices, the Department of Doing Business and work with other international ratings of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, together with interested ministries and agencies on June 24 this year a videoconferencing seminar was held on the implementation of the measures program aimed at improving the position of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the "Competitive Industrial Performance Index".

During the event, the indicators of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Competitive Industrial Performance Index for 2019 were formed in the context of the available indicators based on preliminary calculations. In particular, the data on value added produced by industries - important in the formation of these indicators, were analyzed and discussed.

Also interested ministries and departments provided recommendations on activities aimed at improving the indicators of this index. In particular, proposals were made to support system for the production of medium-high and high-tech products in the manufacturing industry, in line with establishing the activities of a system that coordinates the introduction of R&D (research and development).

The Ministry, together with the functioing bodies of the Republican Council for work with international ratings and indices, as well as responsible ministries and agencies, continues further work in accordance with the Program of Measures for the Competitive Industrial Performance Index for 2021.
