Online meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to expand cooperation in new areas

On December 10, 2020, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama held an online conversation on strengthening cooperation in existing areas and expanding cooperation projects.

In addition, the Japanese side expressed interest in the reforms of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to improve consistent projects to increase productivity in the agricultural sector, and offered to work on projects that will further develop cooperation in this area.

In turn, the Uzbek side noted to wait for proposals from Japan on human capital development, IT, artificial intelligence and other infrastructure, without being limited to only existing projects.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the start of work on new areas of cooperation and further strengthening of cooperation.
