On August 15 of this year, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of World Bank Chief Economist William Seitz and banking expert Seville Muradova.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Department for the Management of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Sobir Haitmuratov, employees of the department, as well as Deputy Director of the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research Tursun Akhmedov.

The parties confirmed that the work done over the past years, the approved mechanisms and measures are yielding high results, and in the future they are interested in further strengthening and expanding multilateral cooperation and supporting joint initiatives.

The poverty reduction strategy being developed in Uzbekistan, its main directions, as well as the planned goals and objectives were also widely discussed at the event.
