On August 15 of this year, representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction met with World Bank experts on further improvement of urbanization policy to improve the living conditions of the population in the regions.

During the meeting, it was noted that the issue of developing a draft Concept for the development of urbanization in Uzbekistan until 2030 is of great importance. In particular,

- further improvement of the urbanization policy aimed at increasing the level of urbanization of the country to 60 percent by 2030 to improve the living conditions of the population in the regions;

- renovation of housing stock, residential buildings and regions;

- attention is paid to determining the level of urbanization of settlements, the methodology of its increase and the mechanism of their assessment.

Also during the meeting, the experts heard proposals for the introduction of international experience in the field of urbanization in Uzbekistan, exchanged views on the systematic and planned development of cities, existing problems and issues that need to be given importance.

At the end of the meeting, plans were agreed upon, which will be implemented before the next meetings.
