Analytical information on the work done to support and protect the rights of labor migrants returning from external labor migration (According to the Agency for External Labor Migration as of 01.01. 2022)

The number of migrant workers temporarily working abroad, as of July this year, averaged 1.5 million people, of which 27% - women and 33.7% - young people.
Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan engaged in labor activity in foreign countries, namely in the Russian Federation 1 036 305, the Republic of Kazakhstan 246 170, the Republic of South Korea 39 848, Turkey 67 030, the UAE 8 010 and other countries 143 575.
In January-December 2021, 502 403 citizens returned from abroad as a result of external labor migration processes. Of these, 400 528 (79.7%) were men; 101 873 (20.3%) were women; 164 384 people (32.7%) - young people.
During 2021, employment of 169.5 thousand citizens who returned from abroad and did not leave abroad was provided:
- 135,3 thousand people were employed for vacancies in the Unified National Labor System;
- 23,9 thousand people underwent retraining and improved their skills in their chosen professions;
- 4.5 thousand people received subsidies and started entrepreneurship;
- 5.8 thousand people received preferential microcredits for entrepreneurship and self-employment.
Including:
- Out of 101,9 thousand women who returned from labor migration, 68.2 thousand (67%) were employed;
- Of the 164.4 thousand young people who returned from labor migration, 111.6 thousand (68%) were employed.
