On February 3, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Bobur Abdinazarov met with the General Director of the Spanish advertising and consulting company “GEDEPSA” Alexandro Moleropo to discuss cooperation in the implementation of joint investment projects, in particular, they discussed the organization of the production of high value-added copper products, as well as construction of water treatment facilities for industrial enterprises of “AGMK” JSC.

A. Moleropo stressed the need to increase the number of investment projects in the above areas and suggested establishing cooperation.

“We need to think about every drop of water,” said the CEO of the company, and also informed the participants about the readiness for cooperation to develop the industrial sector of the country's economy.

The guests were informed that the volume of copper production in the country over the past 5 years has increased by almost 1.5 times and will reach 148 thousand tons in 2020. At the same time, it was reported that the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan set the task of expanding copper production to 400 thousand tons in the next 5 years, which would increase the country's income to 7-8 billion dollars.

The issues of developing public-private partnerships, the copper cluster of AGMK JSC, water supply and copper mining were also discussed.

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to develop cooperation in these areas.
