Meeting with representatives of Berlin Economics

On September 9, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Bobur Abdinazarov met with representatives of the international consulting company “Berling Economics” (Germany) Jost de Jager and Woldemar Wolter.

        The director of the department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Temirmalik Kholikov and the head of the department Bekhzod Mamatov and other specialists of the ministry also attended the meeting.

        During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on current joint projects. In particular, the importance of developing the mining and copper industry of Uzbekistan, the design of long-term development strategies in this regard was stressed.

Members of Berlin Economics, in turn, expressed readiness to assist in the development of the mining and copper industry in Uzbekistan by attracting large foreign companies in this field.

        At the same time, the sides discussed the issue of increasing energy efficiency in Uzbekistan and the work being done in this direction. The Uzbek side stressed the importance of forecasting the annual demand for electricity in the country to increase energy efficiency and invited members of Berlin Economics to cooperate in this area.

        At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to expand cooperation on the above issues in the future.
