A meeting of industry ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held

On July 16, 2021, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Bobur Abdinazarov took part in the First Meeting of Industry Ministers of the SCO Member States, which was held in Dushanbe in a hybrid format.

The agenda of the meeting included issues covering the current state and prospects of cooperation between the SCO member states in the field of industry.
At the meeting, the Uzbek side presented for consideration a draft Program for stimulating industrial cooperation between business circles of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. This initiative was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.M. Mirziyoyev at the SCO Summit on November 10, 2020.
The purpose of this initiative is to create favorable conditions for the development of cooperative ties between the business circles of the SCO member states in industry, as well as the formation of a multilateral platform for establishing their interaction to establish mutually beneficial, long-term, stable, regular industrial cooperation in the SCO space.
The heads of delegations supported the presented initiatives and noted that at present, the member states have a powerful production base and high scientific and technical potential, which will provide an opportunity for the successful implementation of new projects in the field of industry.
The meeting participants expressed the need to continue joint work with the SCO Secretariat to establish coordinated and effective cooperation between the SCO member states in the field of industry with the involvement of representatives of government agencies, business circles, research and other organizations to find new ways of cooperation in the field of industry.
