Meeting with representatives of the Korea Exchange (KRX)

On December 12 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held a meeting with representatives of the delegation headed by the Chairman and CEO of the Korea Exchange (KRX) Sohn Byungdoo.

The meeting was attended by Korea Exchange (KRX) Senior Vice President of Global Strategy Shin Donghoon John, Vice President of Global Strategy, Governance Strategy Choi Hwun, General Manager of Corporate Disclosure, Listing Review, Business Index, Strategy and Planning Kim Namyoung, Executive Director Choi Hyungsoo and Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Odilbek Isakov, Chairman of the Tashkent Republican Stock Exchange Georgy Paresishvili and other responsible representatives.

For information: Established in 1956, the Korea Stock Exchange (KRX) has been a significant contributor to Korea's economic development, as well as providing growth capital for companies and investment opportunities for citizens. The Korean Stock Exchange is working to improve the core functions of the capital market - protecting investors and expanding the investment base, as well as improving the IT infrastructure in order to create a dynamic and reliable capital market.

At the meeting, issues of developing the capital market in our country, expanding cooperation in the provision of technical assistance, developing a curriculum and conducting regular trainings and seminars on capital market management, introducing new financial instruments were discussed.

Also at the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the processes of privatization of state owned enterprises and companies in Uzbekistan and the experience of developing the capital market of the Republic of Korea in terms of the full privatization of state-owned companies, tax incentives, and the sale of shares of state-owned companies through an IPO.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further expansion and development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
