On June 20 of this year, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov met with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development headed by Director of the Department of Climate Strategic Reconstruction and Development Harry Boyd-Carpenter.

The meeting was also attended by Dmitry Gwindadze, Director of the Climate Strategy and Regional Implementation Department, Alkis Drakinos, Head of the EBRD in Uzbekistan, Anvar Nasritdinov, Chief Manager for Climate Strategy and Regional Implementation of the EBRD, and Utkirjon Kholbadalov, Director of the Green Economy Development Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, Shoyadbek Babayev, Head of the Department for the Development of Mechanical Engineering (Instrumentation) and Defense Industry and other responsible persons.

The main topic of the meeting was to discuss the prospects of developing a national program for inventory and reduction of methane emissions using modern mechanisms of regular measurements, monitoring and reporting, regulation of electric vehicles.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the work being carried out today in the field of energy, in particular the use of renewable energy sources. Possible ways of developing the energy industry through public-private partnership were also discussed.

In the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand mutually beneficial and effective cooperation.
