Launched Green Hub platform designed to transition to a green economy and stimulate green growth

On April 29 this year, the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research under the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the launch ceremony of the Green Hub platform, created to help accelerate the country's transition to a green economy by developing concepts for ensuring green growth, mitigating the consequences climate change and exchange of views, as well as the involvement of experts, research organizations, international financial institutions and the implementation of joint activities.

The event was attended by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov, Director of the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research Umid Obidhudjayev, representative of the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan Matilda Dimovskaya, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in Uzbekistan Alkis Drakinos, Head of the French Development Agency in Uzbekistan Vincent Kopin and a number of experts and researchers.

During the event, the participants discussed issues of reducing climate change processes, ensuring green growth, transition to a green economy, achieving Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the importance of the Stockholm +50 international meetings held for these purposes, as well as further plans for achieving green progress.


Also at the event, research experts conducting their research in the field of developing a green economy, ensuring green growth, mitigating the effects of climate change, made a presentation of their research and their results.

At the same time, foreign experts highly appreciated the reforms carried out in our country to transition to a green economy and ensure stability, noting that the Green Hub platform created in this direction is another important step in achieving the goals set.
