As part of the implementation of the master plan of the Shakhrisabz district, developed with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), an international expert from Germany, Karl-Heinz Jach, visited the Kashkadarya region on October 5-7. In tandem with local experts and a specialist from IT-Park, he will study the current situation with the digitalization of micro-, small, and medium-sized enterprises (hereinafter MMSP) in the Kashkadarya region, identify 3-4 local pilot business entities from different sectors and implement digital solutions in the value chain.

As part of the study, the experts visited the Shakhrisabz district of the region, where, in order to prepare and implement the master plan of the district, held a number of meetings with local authorities, as well as with business representatives in selected sectors, namely agriculture, tourism, education and services (restaurant service and catering). At the same time, special attention is paid to the issues of IT services in the field of tourism, and it is expected to widely integrate them.

The objectives of the experts are:

- studying the possibilities of applying in our country the best international practices on the digitalization of MSMEs value chains in rural areas;

- rapid assessment of the value chain, challenges and opportunities for mass implementation of digital solutions in selected MSMEs in pilot regions;

- Installation and testing of the best modern digital solutions (systems, equipment, maintenance and other tools) in the operation of pilot MSMEs with training of personnel and setting of performance targets;

- preparation of practical recommendations and mechanisms for digitalizing the value chain for further replication.

It is expected to study the performance of selected enterprises, monitor changes from baseline to targets and prepare a short analysis with practical recommendations for the organization of a system-wide approach to the implementation of digital systems in value chains and the digital transformation of MSMEs in the region.

The above questions on e-commerce, improving the quality of information on the economic and tourism potential, youth employment and digital skills will create a platform for inclusive development and demonstrate the integrated economic potential of Shahrisabz district, including in the field of tourism.
