On July 6 of this year, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction hosted a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov with representatives of the delegation of the French Movement of Enterprises “MEDEF International” headed by the Chairman of the French Business Council Claude Imauven.

        The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Finance Omonullo Nasritdinkhodjaev, First Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of Public-Private Partnership Zokir Bozorov.

The delegation included Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan, Ms. Aurelia Bouchez, Deputy General Director of MEDEF International Business Movement Geraldine Lemble, Senior Vice President for Public Relations of Alstom Philippe Delleur, Airbus Vice President for Strategy in Eastern Europe and Central Asia Jacques Garrigue and other representatives of French companies such as Axelcium, EDF, Alstom, Meridiam, Roma and Suez.

        The priority issues on the agenda of the meeting were the discussion of prospects for further mutually beneficial cooperation, in particular, in the energy, transport, infrastructure and a number of other areas.

        At the beginning of the meeting, the Uzbek side acquainted the guests with the current and expected forecasts for the macroeconomic indicators of the republic, also expressed readiness to implement joint new projects in such areas as tourism, energy, drinking water supply, etc.

        In turn, representatives of French business that operate in Uzbekistan briefly spoke about the ongoing and planned joint projects, in particular, on the development of tourism, railways of Uzbekistan, energy efficiency improvement, joint projects involving public-private partnership.

        At the end of the meeting, the Uzbek side expressed its readiness to support French companies interested in implementing projects in Uzbekistan, and the parties also reached an agreement to further expand cooperation in the above areas.
