On April 19 this year, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov met with representatives of the European Union delegation headed by Ambassador to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adriean.

The meeting was attended by Director of the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research Umid Obidkhodjaev, Director of the Green Economy Development Department of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Utkirjon Halbadalov, as well as Head of the Representative Office of the French Development Agency in Uzbekistan Vincent Caupin, Head of the Cooperation Department of the Embassy of the European Union Francis Begeot, Project Manager Daniyor Kuchkarov and other responsible persons.

During the meeting, issues of transition to a green economy, ensuring green growth, reducing harmful gases, introducing green strategies, using green financing tools, developing agriculture, ensuring food security, digitalizing the social sphere and creating new jobs were discussed.

Also during the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, ensuring stability, developing bilateral relations between the parties, green bonds, developing small businesses, and the service sector.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop mutually beneficial relations and expand cooperation on the above issues.
