On April 13 of this year, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction hosted a meeting of Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Bobur Abdinazarov with representatives of the World Bank, headed by Senior Energy Specialist Ferhat Esen.

The meeting was also attended by Director of the Department of Integrated Development of Basic Industries Temirmalik Kholikov, Head of the Department of Fuel, Energy and Chemical Industry Development Kuvonchbek Mustafoev, Senior Energy Specialist Koji Nishida and energy Consultant Georgy Egamnazarov.

The agenda of the meeting included issues of support in the implementation of current projects in the electric power sector and ensuring sustainable transmission, as well as projects to improve the energy efficiency of district heating.

        At the beginning of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the ongoing reforms and improving their effectiveness. The meeting also discussed the development of renewable energy sources, in particular wind and solar energy.

        Moreover, during the meeting, the guests proposed the organization of a one-day consultative seminar to exchange experiences and opinions on the development of bilateral cooperation and improving the effectiveness of current and subsequent reforms in the areas discussed at the meeting.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
