On April 12 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with Special Advisor to the Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on Education Policy, Director of the Department of Education and Skills Andreas Schlacher.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Public Education Usmon Sharifkhodzhaev, Head of the State Inspectorate for Education Quality Control Ulugbek Tashkenbaev, Director of the Department for Human Capital Development and Coordination of Demographic Processes of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Azamat Davletyarov, Director of the Department of Budget Policy in Education, Science and Culture of the Ministry of Finance Adkham Eshchanov and other responsible persons.

During the meeting, the ongoing work in Uzbekistan to develop the education sector, the role of education in all areas, in particular in the development of the economy, cooperation in the field of education between the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and our country, the use of the international education assessment system, in particular the program “PISA".

The meeting also included an exchange of views on the experience of countries with a developed education system, the use of new approaches in teaching, the definition of specific goals, the importance of developing students' practical skills, thinking and creativity, digitalization processes in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
