Meeting with representatives of the World Bank

On March 23 of this year, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction hosted a meeting of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov with representatives of the World Bank headed by the World Bank's Regional Director for the Central Asia Tatiana Proskuryakova.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov, Deputy Ministers of Finance Odilbek Isakov and Akhadbek Khaydarov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Behzod Khamraev, Director of the Institute of Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research Umid Abidkhadjaev.

The list of guests included the World Bank Country Manager for Uzbekistan Marco Mantovanelli, IFC's Director for Europe and Central Asia Wiebke Schloemer, Senior Country Economist of the World Bank Vinayak Nagaraj, Senior Specialist in Monitoring the World Bank Portfolio in Uzbekistan Rakhymzhan Assangaziev and others.

The agenda included questions about further measures taken to ensure effective cooperation between the Government of Uzbekistan and the World Bank.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Uzbek side announced the progress of the ongoing reforms, the main macroeconomic indicators, as well as plans for the next years.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the main directions of further cooperation. Also, the Uzbek side got acquainted with a brief analysis of the current situation and the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators prepared by the World Bank.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand mutually beneficial ties and develop cooperation.
