Offsite discussion of the World Bank Partnership Program for 2022-2026

On January 18, the World Bank delegation headed by the Bank's Country Director for Uzbekistan Marco Mantovanelli held an online meeting with representatives of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Bukhara regions, social workers, entrepreneurs and the public to discuss the World Bank's Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for FY 2022-2026.
The online meeting was also attended by Shukhrat Matkarimov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction, and Behzod Hamroyev, Head of the Division for cooperation with the World Bank Group.
During the meeting, representatives of the regions presented their proposals for cooperation with the World Bank in priority areas.
For reference: in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 728-F of November 29, 2021, 10 working groups were formed on 10 priority areas of cooperation in order to effectively assist in drafting the WB Country Partnership Framework for 2022-2026 and to coordinate it with the country's development strategy for the next 5 years.
During the meeting, the results of the WB CPF 2016-2021, achievements, the current portfolio of World Bank programs in Uzbekistan (as of January 1, 2022, 25 projects totaling 5.0 billion US dollars), proposals on the main directions of forming a new partnership program were discussed.
WB CPF 2022-2026 public discussions are currently underway and meetings with representatives of the Samarkand, Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions are scheduled next.
