On October 8 of this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of “Toyota Tsusho Corporation”, headed by the Executive Adviser of the regional offices of the Middle East, Central Asia and the Caucasus, Mr. Yoshihiro Inoe.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Finance Minister Odilbek Isakov, Deputy Energy Minister Sherzod Khodjaev, First Deputy Director of the PPP Development Agency Zokir Bozorov, as well as Nodir Nuriddinov, Deputy Director of the PPP Development Agency.

The Executive Director of the “Toyota Tsusho Corporation” Representative Office in Tashkent, Nozimjon Khuzhaev, was present from the foreign side.

The agenda included issues of prospects for the development of cooperation between the corporation and Uzbekistan in the field of energy, in particular, to increase the capacity of renewable energy.

At the beginning of the meeting, foreign representatives made a presentation of the corporation's international activities, taking into account the specifics of the accumulated experience in various areas and the wind energy project proposed for implementation in the republic.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side informed about the ongoing reforms in the energy sector with a special focus on renewable energy sources. In addition, ongoing and planned projects in solar and wind energy with leading foreign companies and with the participation of international financial institutions were discussed. 

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation through working consultations at the expert level.
