On September 4 this year, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov met with the Minister of Planning and Economic Development of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Hala El Said at the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Ilkhom Norkulov, Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Agency Botir Akhmedov, from the guests' side, Advisor to the Minister of Planning, Head of the Macroeconomic Unit Dr. Nada Massoud, Director of the Technical Department of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development Kamal Nasr, Deputy Head of Representative Office Mohammed El Soukkary and other specialists.

The main topic of the meeting was a discussion of the measures taken to overcome both economic and social consequences after the coronavirus pandemic. The parties also spoke about the ongoing reforms in recent years in various areas.

The Uzbek side informed the guests about the reforms over the past 5 years and added about the following plans for the next years. In particular, liberalization reforms, tax reforms, plans to decrease inflation, implemented PPP projects, etc. were announced.

At the same time, representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt listed a number of measures they have taken to support economic resilience in their country in the face of COVID-19.

The meeting was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, and allowed to agree on bilateral cooperation in existing and new areas.
